2 More Montclair Intersections Will Get Multi-Way Stop Signs

Two busy intersections have been approved for multi-way stop signs in Montclair. They aren't the only streets to get new signs this year.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Two more busy intersections have been approved for multi-way stop signs in Montclair: Chestnut Street and Central Avenue, and Glenridge Avenue and Forest Street.

The Montclair Town Council voted to approve two ordinances on second reading during their meeting last week, which will make changes to the municipal traffic code. The two intersections will now be marked with multi-way stop signs.

The above intersections aren’t the only ones to recently be approved for new stop signs in Montclair:

  • In April, the council gave the green light to a multi-way stop at Franklin Avenue and Virginia Avenue
  • In late March, the council approved an ordinance that paved the way to install a stop sign for traffic traveling westbound on Inwood Avenue at the intersection of Inwood Avenue and Fernwood Avenue
  • In February, the council approved a four-way stop at Claremont Avenue and Forest Street
