Weather forecast:
1. Popular Jazz Festival Returning To Montclair For 2026 (patch.com) — Montclair residents can look forward to the 2026 Montclair Jazz Festival returning downtown, with free “Pay What You Wish” access via a new JAM PASS system. Concerts at Wellmont Arts Plaza lead up to an all-day Downtown Jamboree and block party at Lackawanna Plaza on August 15, featuring world-class headliners, youth performers, and a special collaboration with the Smithsonian’s traveling Folklife Festival.
2. LGBTQ Pride Fest In Montclair Postponed Due To Rising Costs, Dipping Sponsorship (patch.com) — Montclair’s free Pride Festival is being postponed from June 13 to August 1 as organizers work to close a $55,000 funding gap caused by rising costs and reduced sponsorship. Out Montclair is keeping the event in town at Lackawanna Station, coordinating closely with municipal agencies and local sponsors while asking community members to help sustain one of New Jersey’s largest LGBTQ celebrations.
3. Intruder At Montclair Home Leaves Cryptic Message Behind: Police (patch.com) — A Montclair homeowner checking a recently purchased house on Norman Road discovered signs of an intruder, including open doors, lights left on, and a strange message scrawled on a wall reading, “Sacrifice receive blessings.” Police are investigating, but have not released further details, leaving neighbors to wonder about the motive behind the unsettling break-in.
4. Montclair Survey Shows 84% Support Expanded Weekend Train Service (wdhafm.com) — Montclair residents overwhelmingly want better weekend train service, with 84% of more than 2,300 survey respondents backing more frequent trains between town and Hoboken. With DeCamp buses gone and NJ Transit still running sparse weekend schedules, advocates argue hourly trains using existing tracks could quickly improve quality of life, cut traffic, and match service levels on other lines.
5. After more than 25 years, The Fab Faux still finds inspiration in the music of The Beatles (njarts.net) — Montclair music fans can catch acclaimed Beatles tribute band The Fab Faux at the Wellmont Theater on June 13 at 8 p.m., with horns and strings for a special “Hodgepodge” set. Guitarist Jack Petruzzelli shares how the group keeps Beatles and solo-era songs fresh, while juggling busy touring and teaching schedules rooted partly in New Jersey.
