Another Cooking Oil Theft Reported At Montclair Restaurant, Police Say
This week's theft hasn't been the first time that someone has been accused of stealing cooking oil from a business in Montclair.
MONTCLAIR, NJ — Someone stole used cooking oil from a restaurant in Montclair earlier this week, authorities say.
According to the Montclair Police Department, a person hired to collect used cooking oil from Hunan Taste on Alvin Place reported the theft on Monday.
The worker told police that he arrived at the dumpster where the oil was stored to find a broken lock. Nearly 80 percent of the cooking oil was missing from a 350-gallon container.

The value of the stolen oil isn’t known, police said.
The theft hasn’t been the first time that someone has been accused of stealing cooking oil in the township. Similar incidents have been reported on Valley Road, Glenridge Avenue, Midland Avenue, Park Street and Walnut Street.
