The Porchistas and Cropduster four band showcase at Tierneys

On Saturday April 21^st at 830pm, Montclair’s, The Porchistas are hosting another four band showcase at Tierney’s Tavern at 138 Valley Road in Montclair.  Along with Tierneys favorites The Micks, The Porchistas  will be sharing the stage with Cropduster and Fairmont,  two bands with strong footholds in New Jersey’s independent rock scene.

 Hackensack, New Jersey's Cropduster attracted national attention in 2001 for its sophomore CD, Drunk Uncle, which found the alt-rock quartet segueing from crunchy power pop and twangy country rock to distorted guitar sound effects and distinctive goofball eccentricity.

 The Aquarian Arts Weekly called Fairmont’s last CD Destruction Creation “A strong confident, self-assured, commercially accessible effort from an outstanding young band just beginning to hit its creative stride…”

With songs that awaken the weary and compel the wild at heart, The MiCKS are carving an unflinching musical foothold into an increasing vagueness of modern rock 'n' roll.

 Described as “smart and cutting punk rock" by The Star Ledger’s Tris McCall, The Porchistas were recently featured in The Ledger’s “Merging Scenes” and “Montclair Rock City.” They are currently hard at work in their Montclair studio  on their upcoming CD.

 One of New Jersey’s most welcoming stages, Tierneys Tavern has become a favorite stage for many of the metropolitan areas independent rock bands.  Come out and support original, local, independent music.  Doors open 830pm. $7 cover.
