MONTCLAIR, NJ — A Jet Ski possibly ridden by two missing Montclair residents was found off the coast of Guadeloupe last weekend, a report said.

The search for Magdalena Devil, 25, and Oscar Suarez, 32, was called off last week after the couple disappeared during a trip to Barbados in June.

Nation News, a Barbados newspaper, reported that the crew of a French naval ship recovered a Jet Ski possibly used by the couple off the southern coast of Guadeloupe on Saturday, July 6, about 250 miles northwest of Barbados.

Officials previously said Suarez and Devil went missing after riding their jet ski out to sea. The couple arrived in Barbados on June 22 and checked into the Discovery Bay Hotel at Trents in St. James, police said. They were scheduled to leave that day, police said.

They rented the jet ski at 2:34 p.m. on Monday from an operator at Holetown Beach. They were both wearing life jackets. At 2:55 p.m., however, they did not return.

The Police Marine Unit was notified and the Barbados Coast Guard conducted a search of the area. No one was found, authorities said.

That search has since been called off, multiple reports stated on July 1.
