In Montclair: Congratulations Class of 2015

Ben Rosenfield delivers the commencement address to 460 graduates during Tuesday's ceremony.

Although the 460 graduates of Montclair High School’s Class of 2015 were forced indoors due to the weather during Tuesday’s ceremony, it didn’t affect the excitement of the students and their families.

Actor and former MHS alumnus Ben Rosenfield – a born Montclairite - delivered the commencement address. Rosenfield spoke about his experience at MHS, saying that while his academic performance was less than stellar, the school’s arts programs helped to ignite his passion for acting.

“Don’t let your past failures define you. Don’t concern yourself with the approval of others. Do what makes you happy.”

Harrison Colville, president of the Class of 2015 followed with a speech to his fellow classmates.

“This is one of the most outstanding classes to ever walk the halls of Montclair High School,” he said. “We are a diverse group of scholars, athletes, artists. It has been a privilege to grow together. We are at the next stage and we are ready. We are leaving with the skills to accomplish great things.”
