Montclair Cops Arrest 2 Men For Armed Robbery Of Delta Gas Station

Montclair police have arrested two men in connection with an armed robbery that took place at the Delta gas station on Harrison Avenue.

Montclair, NJ – Montclair police have arrested two men in connection with an armed robbery that took place on June 11 at the Delta gas station on Harrison Avenue.

On Tuesday, the Montclair Police Department announced that officers arrested Jamuga Wemusa, 53, of Newark, and Ruben Tursi, 44, of Elizabeth, and charged them with robbery, assault and weapons offenses.

“The Bloomfield Police Department Investigative Division was pivotal in bringing this armed robbery investigation to a successful conclusion,” Montclair police stated in a release.

According to the Montclair Police Department, the incident took place around 6:22 p.m. on Saturday, when two men allegedly approached the employee on foot and asked if he could sell them cigarettes.

One of the suspects then grabbed the employee by the throat and pushed him further into the booth, while his accomplice placed a gold-colored handgun against his neck and demanded money, police said.

The gas station gave the men about $1,000 in cash and they fled the scene east on Virginia Avenue, police said.

Nobody was injured in the incident, police stated.
