Montclair Homecoming 'Parade' Will Be Allowed, Town Says

A short Montclair homecoming procession will take place on Saturday prior to the game against Seton Hall Prep.

Montclair’s Homecoming Parade will go on.

Following a brief scare that the Montclair’s annual Homecoming parade might not be allowed to continue due to permit issues, township administrators stated that a small “homecoming procession” will be allowed to take place on Saturday, Oct. 17, prior to Montclair High School’s matchup against Seton Hall Prep at 1 p.m. at Woodman Field.

Township Communications Director Katya Wowk confirmed the new parade details with Baristanet:

“Instead of the long route from the high school to Woodman Field, students with banners will be able to meet at approximately 11:30 on Saturday on the north side of Chestnut Street opposite of Clary Anderson Arena. The procession will then move east along Chestnut Street (and only along Chestnut) to Woodman Field before the big game.”
