Montclair School Board Election: See Who Filed To Run In November
Here's who you will see on the ballot November 8 when you cast your vote for school board, and their slogan (if they submitted one).

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Four candidates have filed to run for three Montclair Public Schools Board of education seats in the November 8 election.
All candidate information was sent to Patch by the Essex County Clerk's office.
Candidates were allowed to submit slogans when they filed to run.

Current board member Mfreke "Monk" Inyang is running for re-election. Brian Fleischer, Yvonne W. Bouknight, and Noah Gale will also be on the ballot; Bouknight and Gale also ran in March.
Bouknight's slogan is "Transparency Equality Diversity," and Gale's is "Protect Special Education." The other two candidates did not submit a slogan.

Montclair voters passed a landmark school referendum in the 2021 general election. The town was one of the last few in New Jersey where mayors appoint members of the local board of education, as opposed to voters electing them.
School boards generally vote on budget items and personnel related to the district public schools and related programs.
