Montclair Students Win Forensics Competition

Lacordaire Academy captains carry debate team to victory.

Students from Lacordaire Academy in Montclair placed first in the final forensics competition for the North Jersey Junior Forensics League on March 30.

The league hosts four competitions a year: Reading, Declamations, Drama and Humor and competitors from nine independent Catholic schools memorize and present pieces three to five minutes long.

According to a release, captains Logan Boyce, John Colie and Maria Bambrick Santoyo had a winning year which culminated in their winning individual awards for 8th place, 3rd place and 2nd place overall for the year.

John Colie won first place and Conor Minutillo won honorable mention as a finalist in the Humor Competition.
