NJ Transit Train Strikes, Kills Montclair Man: Officials
A NJ Transit train on the Montclair-Boonton line struck and killed a Montclair man, authorities said.
MONTCLAIR, NJ -- A NJ Transit train on the Montclair-Boonton line struck and killed a Montclair man on Monday morning, authorities said.
NJ Transit officials reported a "trespasser fatality" near Watchung Avenue. The fatal strike - combined with an unrelated "manpower shortage" - caused a series of cancellations and delays for commuters, authorities stated.
NJ Transit later identified the deceased man as Stephen Korbel, of Montclair, NorthJersey.com reported.

Monday’s incident was the second fatal train strike near Watchung Avenue in the past seven months, Montclair Local reported.
Montclair Boonton Line rail service is suspended in both directions due to a trespasser fatality near Watchung. NJ Transit rail tickets and passes are being accepted by NJ TRANSIT bus.
