Celebrated Indigenous Artist Will Hold Her First Major Exhibit In Montclair (patch.com) — Montclair Art Museum is hosting the first major U.S. exhibition of Indigenous artist Nadia Myre, bringing more than 40 experimental works to town from September through January. Montclair residents can explore powerful reimaginings of American symbols, wampum-inspired beadwork, free Sunday tours, family workshops, and special talks that connect local audiences with Indigenous histories and contemporary art.

Wallet Reported Stolen on Church Street in Montclair Tracked to Newark, Police Say (montclairlocal.news) — Montclair police logged several recent incidents, including a wallet reported stolen on Church Street that was later tracked to Newark, theft of earphones from a Bloomfield Avenue shop, and a small cash theft during a South Park Street dispute. Officers also investigated two cases of vehicle vandalism on Prospect Avenue and Bloomfield Avenue and charged a West Orange man after a separate South Park Street altercation.
   

3. Montclair in Talks With PSE&G For Electric Substation at Municipal Building Site (montclairlocal.news) — Montclair officials are weighing whether to let PSE&G build a new electrical substation at the current Municipal Building site on Claremont Avenue if town offices relocate. A proposed redevelopment plan would also allow housing, assisted living, offices, and public utilities there, prompting nearby residents to raise concerns as the council prepares for an October 6 vote after more talks with PSE&G.
   

4. Crashes and Road Work Cause Closures Across North America (ijr.com) — Drivers in Montclair should expect lane restrictions and street work as PSE&G mills and repaves roads affected by recent gas-line projects, part of a broader set of closures across several states. The work, running on a scheduled basis and subject to weather, may slow neighborhood travel but aims to restore local streets after utility upgrades and keep traffic moving safely once completed.
   

5.
