Religious Leaders Plan Climate Change March In Montclair
The temperature is about to rise in Montclair – and not just from this week's heat wave.
MONTCLAIR, NJ — The heat’s about to rise in Montclair – and not just from this week’s heat wave.
A coalition of clergy and congregations across North Jersey are preparing to hold a march against climate change in the township at 1 p.m. on Sunday, June 23. The rally will kick off at First United Methodist, 24 North Fullerton Avenue (across from Chase Bank) and end at Bnai Keshet, 99 South Fullerton Avenue.

According to organizers, the Interfaith Climate March from Grief to Hope will use “ritual, music, art and prayer” to urge New Jerey public officials to “move away from fossil fuels and toward truly clean energy.”
Advocates said they want to see “faster, bolder action” from Gov. Phil Murphy and state lawmakers on climate and environmental justice goals as New Jersey updates its Energy Master Plan.
