Wig-Wearing Package Thief Strikes In Montclair: Police

MONTCLAIR, NJ — A Montclair resident says that she was victimized by a wig-wearing package thief and two of his accomplices last week, authorities announced Tuesday.

A resident of Portland Place reported the theft to police on May 4. According to the Montclair Police Department, here’s what she told officers:

“The resident reported that she was on vacation from April 21 to April 30. When she returned, her home surveillance showed that a male wearing an orange wig, accompanied by two other individuals, stepped onto her front porch and removed a package that had between delivered to her home.”

The package contained miscellaneous clothing worth $200, police said.

No additional descriptions of the suspects were available in an initial police statement about the thefts.
