The Montville 6th grade girls travel basketball team had a season to remember …. The season started with tryouts in early October and ended with a tournament championship in late March. In between the team compiled a 38-3 overall record (for the second consecutive year) en route to winning titles in the 2 leagues and 4 tournaments in which they were entered. Despite placing second in the regular season of the NorthWest Bergen Passaic League, the Lady Broncos prevailed in the playoffs by defeating previously unbeaten Midland Park 31-24 in the final, avenging two early season losses to Midland Park. After finishing tied for first in the regular season of the Wayne PAL Weekend League, the Lady Broncos defeated Jefferson 30-26 in the final, avenging the last of their three season losses in the process. Tournament titles included the Santa Slam at Newark Academy, the Fastbreak Invitational and March Madness tournaments at Wayne PAL, and the season-ending Pacer Tournament held at Central Middle School in Parsippany. Congratulations to the 6th Grade Montville Lady Broncos on a job well done!
