Cake Boss Bakes Special Cake For Montville Teacher

Lots of children bake cakes for their teachers. Not all children have the Cake Boss helping them.

MONTVILLE, NJ— Lots of kids want to do something nice for their teachers, and baking treats is a common show of appreciation.

William Mason Elementary School kindergartener Carlo is no exception, asking his parents if they'd help him make a cake for his teacher, Diane Oberlin.

What is unusual is the help Carlo would be getting in the kitchen. His dad, Buddy Valastro, is the Cake Boss.

After weeks of coordination between the Valastros, producers from High Noon TV, Montville Township Public Schools district, Carlo delivered his present to Oberlin, with a television crew in tow.

The cake was designed based on what the students were studying in school, and was a big hit.

“It was magnificent,” Mrs. Oberlin, a 20 year teacher, said of the imaginative cake. “Absolutely magical. It brought our unit life.”

Because the day will air on TLC, no pictures of the cake are being released for now, but will be featured in the school's yearbook. The episode should air sometime in the spring in 220 countries around the world.

Of course, the class was able to eat the cake, after posing for some pictures.

In addition to Carlo, the students who participated were: Justin Acevedo, William Albanese, Maksim Blanarovich, Caden Chang, Angelina Chen, Harrison DelGizzi, Halema Gaber, Isabella Jacobs, Dominic Milazzo, Kiyaan Parveez, Benjamin Rhodes, Margot Squires, Courtney Stolz-Illge and Sofia Takahashi.
