New Teachers Get Ready For School In Montville
Exciting changes, including Chromebooks for all high schoolers, are underway.
MONTVILLE, NJ — Superintendent Dr. René Rovtar welcomed more than 40 new faculty, staff and administrative team members on Wednesday, August 30, 2017. Scheduled for two days of training and orientation, the new hires will be joined by nearly 700 returning staff members, on Friday September 1 as the district prepares for the start of the 2017-2018 academic year.
“Being selected for a position in the Montville Township Public Schools is a very thorough process,” said Rovtar. “From the paper screening to the building level interviews and finally in Central Office interview we recognize that selecting the best teachers is critical to our mission. It is precisely because we have seen in each of you the ability to help us fulfill our mission that we have selected you for the positions you hold. It is the collective feeling of the district administration that we have truly chosen the best of the best.”
Those assembled included teachers of Math, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, World Language, Spanish, Video Technology, Media, Music, Speech and many other specialties. Their collective skills span all curriculum areas and will impact students in each of the seven Montville Township Public Schools. In all, the district welcomed 24 new full and part-time teachers, 10 long term and replacement substitutes, 5 counselors and nurses and 5 support staff members. In addition, several new administrators were welcomed including: Supervisor of World Language Jessica Clarke, Business Administrator Katine Slunt and the Principal of Robert R. Lazar Middle School Michael Pasciuto.
