MOORESTOWN, NJ — An 88-year-old man and an 83-year-old woman, both from Moorestown, are among 12 new deaths related to new coronavirus reported in Burlington County on Wednesday.

It is the second straight day county officials announced that multiple Moorestown residents have died after testing positive for the coronavirus.

On Tuesday, officials had announced that seven Moorestown residents died after testing positive for the coronavirus, the single highest death total related to the coronavirus reported in Moorestown in a single day since the pandemic began.

Previously reported coronavirus deaths in Moorestown included an 89-year-old woman, an 84-year-old woman, an 82-year-old man, an 86-year-old man, an 88-year-old man, an 84-year-old woman, a 93-year-old-man, a 73-year-old-man, an 87-year-old man, a 97-year-old woman, a 76-year-old man, an 86-year-old woman, an 85-year-old woman a 93-year-old woman, a 68-year-old man, a 91-year-old man, a 97-year-old man, a 79-year-old woman, a 73-year-old woman, a 77-year-old woman and a 74-year-old man. An additional 12 Moorestown residents have tested positive for the coronavirus, bringing the township totals to 196, with 25 deaths. Countywide, there are 3,167 positive cases with 181 deaths. Sixty-six new cases were reported on Wednesday. Trace investigations are underway in all new cases.

As of Wednesday, 1,513 additional cases of the coronavirus were reported statewide. There were also 308 additional deaths. The update comes as the total number of cases rose to 131,390 in New Jersey, and 8,549 have died. New Jersey's stay-at-home order will remain in place, likely for at least another month. On Wednesday, New Jersey reported that it never know exactly how many people have actually died because of the coronavirus. That's because the two explicit resources for that information — the state Department of Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention — show that the data may have been underreported by significant margins.
