Arrest Made In Fatal Shooting Of South Jersey Man Found In Car
Douglas Lewis has been charged with the murder of Shaquille Williams in Pemberton earlier this year.

A Burlington County man has been charged with the murder of a man who was found fatally shot in a car earlier this year, Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina and Pemberton Township Police Chief David H. Jantas announced.
Douglas Lewis, 23, of Pemberton, was arrested Friday without incident in connection with the death of 24-year-old Shaquille Williams, of Pemberton. He was charged with first-degree murder, second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, second-degree certain persons not to possess weapons and fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.
Williams was found inside a car suffering from several gunshot wounds on the 100 block of Kinsley Road just before 9 p.m. on March 21. Williams, who lived in the Browns Mills section of Pemberton Township, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lewis was arrested at the Burlington County Courts Facility by the Burlington County Sheriff’s Department Warrant Unit and members of the Prosecutor’s Office. The motive for the shooting is still being investigated.
A detention hearing will be held soon, and the case will then be prepared for presentation to a Grand Jury for possible indictment.

The case was investigated by detectives from the Pemberton Township Police Department and the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit — Violent Crimes Section, and Crime Scene Unit. The lead investigators are BCPO MCU Detective Tony Luyber and Pemberton Township Police Detective Danielle Hann.
