Cambridge Enjoys “A Week at the Met” During Assisted Living Week
Inspiring Art-Themed Activities Include a Hat Fashion Show

Thanks to creative imagination and inventive activity planning, residents of Cambridge Enhanced Senior Living experienced a “A Week at the Met” in celebration of National Assisted Living Week®. From exploring the history of the iconic Metropolitan Museum of Art to a Met Gala-inspired hat fashion show, participants had countless opportunities to learn, share and be inspired, according to Erika Gagliardi, executive director of Cambridge Enhanced Senior Living.
“Entertaining and educational programming is vital to the fulfilling lifestyle our residents enjoy here at Cambridge,” said Gagliardi. “Our Life Enrichment team took an artful approach to the theme of this year’s Assisted Living Week – ‘Inspiring Generations’ – and developed some truly unique ways to excite, engage and enhance our sense of community.”
Established by the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) in 1995, National Assisted Living Week offers opportunities for personal care residents and their loved ones, professionals and volunteers to recognize and celebrate the importance of assisted living care for seniors and individuals with disabilities.

Cambridge Enhanced Senior Living Life Enrichment lead Meredith Tesch noted that the community enjoyed daily art-themed events that included flower and fashion shows featuring residents and staff, art galleries, musical performances, history lessons, and more. The residents also participated in designing and putting on a Met Gala-inspired hat fashion show.
“This week was all about celebrating our residents and making them feel special,” said Tesch. “Not only did they enjoy learning about some of the world’s greatest works of art, but also sharing new experiences as well as their own artistic talents created many memorable moments for everyone involved.”
