MOORESTOWN, NJ — Cambridge Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center (Lutheran Crossings) is matching donations to the Moorestown Community House of up to $5,000 through July 21, according to officials.
Cambridge’s contribution comes at a time when the Community House is trying to make it through the coronavirus pandemic, and the Community House Board and staff said they are grateful for Cambridge’s generosity, care and support.
“Cambridge is setting a wonderful example for our community and the importance of supporting this historic building and worthy nonprofit organization,” Moorestown Community House Executive Director Caryn Lynch said. “We are grateful for all the individuals, businesses, and organizations that have come forward to support us during these challenging times. We are confident that our amazing community will continue to come together to protect the Community House.”

In April, the Community House projected it would lose hundreds of thousands of dollars and possibly have to close if the coronavirus pandemic continued for too long. It launched a Facebook fundraiser that had raised more than $81,000 toward its $100,000 goal as of Thursday morning.
Donations are fully tax-deductible, and they are being used to pay the necessary maintenance and operating costs on the nearly 100-year-old building. To donate, click here.
Donations can also be made on the Community House’s website or by mailing a check to The Community House, 16 East Main Street, Moorestown, NJ 08057.
It also recently received a $5,000 donation from the Moorestown Improvement Association. Read more here: Moorestown Improvement Association Donates $5K To Community House
“As a gathering place, the Community House is being greatly impacted by this pandemic. The House is experiencing the perfect storm,” Lynch said. “Lost rental income, canceled major fundraisers, and very few people planning future events. There have been nearly 200 event cancellations with no end in sight.”
The Community House gave special thanks to Moorestown Mayor Nicole Gillespie for joining them in thanking Cambridge for their support of the Community House.
