Election Day 2019: Everything Moorestown Needs To Know

MOORESTOWN, NJ — After a long campaign season, Election Day 2019 is finally here in Moorestown. There are a number of races on the ballot in Moorestown this November, including a contested school board race. Here is everything you need to know about Election Day in Moorestown:

What will be on my ballot?

There are no council seats up for election, but there are two school board elections. Board President Sandra Alberti and Board Members Mark Villanueva and Maurice Weeks are all up for re-election on Tuesday, Nov. 5. Mark Snyder is also seeking a seat on the board.

Residents will also vote on their two representatives in the New Jersey State Assembly. Democratic incumbents Herb Conaway and Carol Murphy face one Republican challenger, Peter Miller. Kathleen Cooley is running an independent campaign, and can be found in Column 5. The Senate seat is not up for re-election this year. Burlington County Sheriff Jean Stanfield is vacating her office to run for Assembly in the 8th Legislative District. Four candidates are pursuing the seat, including Undersheriff Michael Ditzel, who is running as a Republican; Democrat Anthony Basantis; independent Erik Johnston; and independent Robert Shapiro.

Dan O’Connell, who was appointed to replace George Youngkin on the Burlington County Board of Chosen Freeholders after last year’s election, will run in a special election to fill the remainder of the term. The Democrat will face Republican Lee Schneider.

Incumbent Freeholder Latham Tiver is up for re-election. Tiver is the only Republican left on the board after Democrats took a 4-1 majority in last year’s elections. Tiver will attempt to hold onto that seat against Democratic challenger Linda Hynes.

Where do I vote?

Your polling place is included on a sample ballot mailed out to all registered voters. If you're still not sure, or you misplaced that sample ballot, you can look up your polling location on the New Jersey Division of Elections' website.

When can I vote?

Election Day 2019 is Tuesday, Nov. 5. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Are Elections Secure?

More than 125 deputy attorney generals will be stationed throughout the state to ensure a fair and smooth-running election, and to assist county election officials in resolving any emergent voting-related legal matters throughout the day, according to Attorney General Gurbir Grewal.
