Burlington County Footlighters takes a romantic trip back to the 1980s with its production of the musical The Wedding Singer.
With music by Matthew Sklar, lyrics by Chad Beguelin and a book by Beguelin and Tim Herlihy, this adaptation of the hit movie revisits 1980s New Jersey to tell the story of a jilted groom and wedding band performer whose dreams of being a singer/songwriter have faded, until he meets a girl who inspires him - but who comes with her own complicated life.
Director/choreographer Sarah Dugan and musical director Ryan Wyrofsky, both of Moorestown, have guided an energetic cast that includes Kendra Cancellieri as Angie, Danielle Harley as Holly, Sean Flaherty as Robbie Hart, Robynn Hecht as Julia Sullivan, Ryan Ketner as Glen Gulia, Anthony Magnotta as Sammy, Kelsey McCollaum as Linda, Jillian Starr-Renbjor as Rosie and Connor Twigg as George, with an ensemble featuring Linda Hansen, Rachel Comenzo, Michael Melvin, Chris Erickson, Rachel Silberman, Stacy Silberman and Ayana Flowers.
