Education Association Leader Discusses New Moorestown Public Schools Contract
The new contract will go into effect this month, the school district had said.
MOORESTOWN, NJ — The Moorestown Education Association President has weighed in on the new contract between the association and the Moorestown Township Public School District.
You will recall that on Thursday, Patch reported on the new three-year agreement the Moorestown Township Public School District Board of Education and Moorestown Education Association that was reached late Wednesday.
"Efficiencies were obtained by restructuring the Health Insurance Relief Fund, improving the structure of the salary guide and meeting minimum wage requirements within the overall settlement amount," the school board had said.

In addition, teachers and paraprofessionals will see salary increases with the new contract, according to the school district.
"This was a complicated process that required significant time and effort from all involved to balance all of the pieces," said school board president Mick Weeks of the new contract.

"We are pleased that the [Moorestown Education Association] and [Board of Education] were able to come to an agreement that prioritizes student experience, offers stability for the community and continues to compensate our educational professionals appropriately and fairly," he added.
Moorestown Education President Lisa Trapani added that the settlement "is a true testament to the unity, commitment and dedication of the members of the Moorestown Education Association, the paraprofessionals, the buildings and grounds staff, the secretaries and all of the certificated staff."
The new contract will go into effect later this month, the district had said.
