Moorestown Girls Soccer Team Advances To SJSCA Semifinals

Moorestown will face Shawnee on Wednesday night, according to nj.com.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — The Moorestown High School girls soccer team is two wins away from capturing the unofficial South Jersey championship.

The Quakers advanced to the semifinals of the South Jersey Soccer Coaches Association tournament with a 3-2 win over Paul VI in the quarterfinals on Monday, according to the Burlington County Times.

Jillian Calhoun scored the game-winning goal with three minutes left in the game. Cici Imhotep and Isa Arvelo also scored for Moorestown.

Alyssa Carfagno and Allison English scored for Paul VI, the 13th seeded team who upset No. 4 Bishop Eustace, 2-1, in the first round, according to nj.com.

Moorestown, who defeated No. 12 Williamstown 2-1 in the first round, will travel to face No. 1 Shawnee in the semifinals at DeCou Field in Cherry Hill on Wednesday, 7:15 p.m.
