Moorestown High School Soccer Teams Fall in Coaches Tournaments

The Moorestown High School girls soccer team pushed top-seeded Lenape to the limit, but eventually dropped a 2-1 decision in overtime of the quarterfinals of the South Jersey Soccer Coaches Association tournament, according to nj.com.
Abbey Brooks scored the only goal of the game for the Quakers, who were tied with Lenape, 1-1, at halftime.
A 25-save performance from goalie Carly Blessing helped Moorestown stay even with Lenape in the second half and force overtime.

Lizzie Kinkler scored both goals for Lenape, including the game-winner in overtime.
Moorestown also went into overtime in the first round, defeating Ocean City, 1-0.

Lenape will play No. 2 Eastern in the final this weekend.
Moorestown is 10-4-2 this season.
A second half goal ended the Moorestown boys soccer team’s run at the South Jersey Coaches Association tournament championship in the quarterfinals, as well.
Cinnaminson’s Pat McCarthy scored a goal in the second half off an assist from Matt Ochman as No. 7 Cinnaminson sent Moorestown home with a 1-0 defeat, according to nj.com.
Moorestown goalie Brian Sever made six saves in the loss.
Moorestown entered the tournament as the No. 15 seed, but upset No. 2 Rancocas Valley on penalty kicks in the first round.
Moorestown is 7-8-4 this season.
