Moorestown Man Drawing Sketches in Battle Against ALS
Peter Amos draws a sketch a day in memory of his father-in-law, who died after being diagnosed with ALS.

A Moorestown man isn’t dumping buckets of ice on his head, but he has come up with his own way to raise awareness about ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.
Peter Amos, 33, sketches a picture every day that people can download off his Patreon page, the Burlington County Times reports.
Amos said he will draw a sketch every day for a year, beginning on Jan. 1 of this year. He does this in memory of his father-in-law, who was diagnosed with the disease five years ago before he passed away, according to the report.

Those who wish to help out can register on Amos’s page on Patreon.com and select how much they’d like to donate. The more a person donates to the cause, the more access that person has to Amos’s page, according to the report.
They can also send the hashtag #Sketch4ALS on Twitter or Facebook to a person who then has 48 hours to draw and post a sketch before they have to donate $10, according to the report.

All proceeds go to the ALS Association.
It was a year ago that the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge swept the nation. People would challenge other people to dump buckets of ice over their heads or else they have to donate to ALS.
The ALS Association even launched a campaign to bring back the Ice Bucket Challenge in August, and every August, until there is a cure. The hashtag for the campaign is #ALSIceBucketChallenge.
Last year, over $220 million in donations was raised, and the effort brought ALS to the public’s consciousness.
Amos is hoping to have a similar impact.
