Moorestown Resident Earns Military Honor
Ret. Maj. Gen. Steven Hashem, of Moorestown, was recognized as a Distinguished Member of the Civil Affairs Regiment last month.

Ret. Maj. Gen. Steven Hashem, of Moorestown, was recognized as a Distinguished Member of the Civil Affairs Regiment by the United States Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center during an awards ceremony last month, the Moorestown Sun reports.
Kashem, originally from Concord, New Hampshire, served for 37 years on active and reserve duty in America, Germany and Iraq, among others, according to the report.
He served in both Iraq wars and in Bosnia in 1998. He graduated from the U.S. Military Academy in 1974, according to the report.
