Overturned Tractor-Trailer Blocks NJ Turnpike Ramp In Burlington Co.

The vehicle overturned on a southbound exit ramp to Route 541, officials said.

WESTAMPTON, NJ — A tractor-trailer overturned Monday morning around the New Jersey Turnpike, closing an exit ramp, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT).

The crash occurred at 9:37 a.m. on Interchange 5 in Westampton, closing a southbound exit ramp to Route 541, authorities said. Preliminary investigation revealed that the vehicle was traveling southbound when it hit a guide rail and overturned, according to State Police.

Authorities reported no serious injuries. But all lanes and the shoulder remain blocked on the exit ramp as of 12:30 p.m. Monday, according to NJDOT.

The crash remains under investigation.
