Silver Diner to Hold Fundraiser for "Build Jake's Place"
"Build Jake's Place" Fundraiser on Thursday, May 5 from 5 to 8 p.m.
Silver Diner is holding a fundraiser to benefit “Build Jake’s Place” on Thursday, May 5 from 5 to 8 p.m. For this special evening, Silver Diner is donating a portion of proceeds restaurant sales (dine in or takeout) to this nonprofit organization, whose mission is to construct and operate boundless playgrounds allowing children of all abilities to the joy of playing and learning together.
“It is great to be working with Silver Diner again, a company that has been a true longtime supporter of Build Jake’s Place,” said Joe Nasto, board chairman, Build Jake’s Place. “Their generosity helped us build a Jake’s Place all-access playground in Cherry Hill, and will help us again build Jake’s Place newest playground in Delran.”
The evening will feature arts and crafts, face painting and other popular kids’ night activities, including a meet-and-greet with Disney princess Elsa. Guests can enjoy Silver Diner’s “fresh and local” menu featuring hormone-free meats, farm fresh milk and eggs, natural grain bread as well as Gluten-Free and 600 Calorie Entrees … all for a good cause.

“We’re thrilled to give back to the community and to work with an organization like Build Jake’s Place,” said Silver Diner General Manager Fred Acevedo. “We are really looking forward to the fundraiser, and are expecting a great turnout.”
Build Jake’s Place is in memory of Jacob Myles Cummings Nasto, of Pennsauken who died from complications related to hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS) before his third birthday. He visited Camden County playgrounds for his therapy. Jake’s Place Playground in Cherry Hill was named one of the top ten all access playgrounds in the country by USA Today and is Camden County’s #1 tourist attraction. The new Jake’s Place in Delran, Burlington County, with a South Jersey theme, will be more spectacular.
