Students at Chesterbrook Academy Hold Earth Day Ladybug Release

Students celebrated Earth Day by releasing 1,000 beneficial bugs into their schoolyard to help local vegetation

On April 20, students at Chesterbrook Academy Preschool in Marlton explored a bug’s life in celebration of Earth Day as they released more than 1,000 ladybugs throughout the schoolyard and back into the environment on plants, flowers and trees. Students also created a garden for the school community using seeds, soil, gloves, shovels and other resources donated by families and local businesses.

Leading up to Earth Day, students learned that ladybugs serve as a natural pesticide by feeding on insects that could otherwise harm the health of gardens, trees and shrubs. Chesterbrook Academy teaches the importance of community and exploring nature at an early age.
