Search Intensifies For Missing Elderly Woman In Moorestown: Police

The 84-year-old woman was reported missing Wednesday evening.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — The search for a missing elderly woman has intensified, Moorestown police said Thursday night. Residents are advised that Moorestown and area first responders along with the New Jersey Office of Emergency Management Wide Area Search Team and the New Jersey State Police will be searching the areas of Devon Road, Red Leaf Road, Moore Street and Wilson Avenue until about 10 p.m.

If necessary, the search will then resume at 8 a.m. Friday morning for Agnella Zapotochny, an 84-year-old woman who suffers from dementia. She is missing from her home on the unit block of Cottage Avenue.

She is 5'5," 150 pounds. She was last seen at about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. She was wearing a navy blue shirt with "cape may" light and blue pants with a white stripe. Two images of her are attached to this post.

Residents of Moorestown and the surrounding areas are asked to check any outbuildings, garages, etc on their property in case she took refuge during Wednesday's storms.

She often mentions she wants to go home, in reference to her previous home in the 3400 block of Ormes Street in Philadelphia, PA. If located, contact Moorestown Police at 856-234-8300.
