Masks have been worn for centuries for
amusement, deception, or protection.
Explore a wide variety of masks spanning many decades and continents and
see how mankind has been transformed by this unique and vast art form.  Spanning many decades and continents, masks
have served a variety of purposes, ranging from masks for ceremonial rituals,
amusement, warfare, and even deception. To explore how masks have played such a
valuable role in a variety of cultures, this exhibition will examine masks of a
broad spectrum of values and emotions, chosen specifically from our own
collection of masks, housed here in the Morris Museum.
