Neighbor's 911 Call Leads To Burglary Arrest In Morris Township
The man confessed to two burglaries, police said.

MORRIS TWP, NJ— A sharp-eyed neighbor helped lead Morris Township police to a a repeat burglar, police said in a statement.
After hearing breaking glass and noticing an unfamiliar person, a neighbor on Woodlawn Drive called 911 on Saturday to report the suspicious activity. The neighbor spotted a man getting into a car, and gave that description to police.
Police pulled over a car matching the description, and to a home that had been forcibly entered.

The investigation led to the arrest of Jason Major, 34, of Stanhope. Major confessed to the Feb. 12 burglary, as well as a Burnham Road burglary earlier this year.
Major was charged with two counts of burglary, theft, criminal possession of burglary tools, criminal mischief and possession of a hypodermic needle.

"Residents are encouraged to report suspicious activity at the time it is observed. Residents are also encouraged to take preventative measures to protect their homes from potential burglars," Morris Twp. Police Capt. Mark DiCarlo said. "Some preventative tips include making your residence appear occupied, leaving lights on at night only, park a vehicle in your driveway and remove packages and mail from outside your home."
