Photo Gallery: The Art of Ann Light

Morris Township artist creates mask-like forms from gourds and other natural materials.

The initial ingredient in most of Ann Light's artwork is a moldy gourd that's been laying in a field for a year.

What she creates with these gourds, through soaking, dyeing and waxing, are mask-like sculptures that display hints of African art, Native American design and 1950s robot imagery. They range from minimalist to exuberantly kitschy and are priced from $175-$800.

She has three upcoming shows where you can view her work.
