Strong Dog Robbery: Pit Bull Force Used as Threat to Steal Wallet, Phone

Couple charged with robbery after Friday night incident, report says.

A man and woman duo have been arrested for allegedly robbing a man walking on Morris Street in Morristown and threatening the victim with harm by way of pit bull if he did not comply with their demands.

According to dailyrecord.com, Amanda Caravaglia, 23, of Morris Township, and Edwin Rivera Jr., 23, of Randolph, allegedly drove up to a 23-year-old victim walking on Morris Street Friday around 9:30 p.m. and told him to get in the car.

Caravaglia and Rivera allegedly had with them a brown and white pit bull whom they would “turn loose” on the victim if he didn’t get in the car and hand over his wallet and phone, the report said.

The victim complied and called police after the car left, the report said. Caravaglia and Rivera were stopped 90 minutes later in Morris Township, the report said.

Both are charged with robbery and lodged in Morris County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 bail each.
