2 Morristown Steakhouses Among The Best In NJ: Report
New Jersey Monthly released its top 20 steakhouses in the Garden State. Two Morristown restaurants made the cut.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — A truly perfect steak is rare. Some might also say it's medium or well-done. However you like your cuts of meat, you have some good choices for steaks in Morristown, according to New Jersey Monthly.
The publication released its list of the top 20 steakhouses in the Garden State. New Jersey Monthly included two Morristown restaurants in the upper echelon of eateries: 1776 by David Burke and Roots Steakhouse.
1776 opened off the Green in October — just in time to make New Jersey Monthly's list of best restaurants that opened in 2021. The restaurant dry-ages its Prime Angus beef in Burke's patented, 100-square-foot, salt-brick aging box, according to the media outlet.

"Turns out, salt bricks can help tenderize beef and concentrate its satisfying meatiness," wrote K.T. Harrison.
You can find Roots Steakhouse around the Garden State, with locations in Morristown, Summit, Ridgewood and Princeton. The Morristown location on W Park Place was Roots's second, opening in 2011. New Jersey Monthly visited the Morristown location — although all Roots restaurants are included on the list — and they were impressed.

Roots steaks are sourced from prime beef, making them among the top 2 percent of cattle, according to its website. The restaurants serve center-cut beef cooked at 1,800 degrees.
