Activists Heading To Washington Hoping To Meet With Rep. Frelinghuysen
BlueWaveNJ and NJ 11th For Change will lead a coalition to Washington, D.C. Wednesday.

MORRISTOWN, NJ— Two grassroots organizations are going to Capitol Hill Wednesday to demand action from their representatives, including Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen (NJ-11).
BlueWaveNJ and NJ 11th For Change are taking their protests from North Jersey to D.C. next week, hoping to score a meeting with Frelinghuysen in person.
The groups are expected to meet with senators Robert Menendez and Cory Booker, along with representatives Frank Pallone, William Pascrell and Donald Payne Jr.

The groups have requested a formal meeting with Frelinghuysen, who has not held a town hall meeting since 2013. The congressman's office has not yet confirmed a meeting will be held, the groups said in a statement.

“We are determined to send a clear signal to our Representatives that this won’t just be business as usual," said Declan Carney, BlueWaveNJ event leader. "Our voices will be heard and we will hold our representatives accountable for their decisions.”
Frelinghuysen has been less visible than other representatives during the tumultuous start to the Congressional term. He has refused meetings with other activist groups and has favored so-called teletown halls over in person town halls.
The bus leaving from Morristown currently has a wait list; spots are still open on the buses leaving from Montclair and Redbank (participants are also welcome to drive down themselves and meet the group there).
Tickets are $60 per period, $30 for students. A select number of discount tickets are available for seniors and volunteers with financial need.
