Anorexic Woman Dies In Morristown, Had Resisted Force Feeding
The woman died from anorexia-related causes after a judge ruled she could not be force fed.

MORRISTOWN, NJ— A Morris County woman has died from anorexia-related causes, three months after a judge ruled she could not be force fed against her wishes, the Daily Record reported.
Ashley G., who was 29, had lived with anorexia and bulimia for years, as Patch previously reported. She won in Morris County Superior Court to not be artificially fed against her wishes.
At the time of the lawsuit, Ashley weighed between just 60-69 pounds. She died Monday at Morristown Medical Center.

"I feel glad that she is no longer suffering but I feel a profound sense of sadness that modern science and all the efforts by a strong, loving family couldn't overcome this problem," Ashley's court appointed attorney is quoted in the Daily Record as saying.
Previous efforts to help Ashley had failed: she had been involuntarily committed to Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital since 2014, and suffered from re-feeding syndrome after she was force fed in June 2016.
