Local Filmmaker Scores TV Deal!
Local filmmaker's documentary lands a TV deal with The Documentary Channel.
Morris Plains resident, John A. Ponsoll, can now check world premiere off his bucket list! Ponsoll caught the attention of the Documentary Channel with his film, Honor in the Valley of Tears, and it is set to premier on 11/11/11 at 5:30pm.
Honor in the Valley of Tears, produced by John in 2010, is a feature length documentary recounting the heroic actions of Congressional Medal of Honor recipient 1st Sgt. David H. McNerney and the men of A-Company that he trained and led into a bloody, battle in Vietnam. Ponsoll’s father documented his tour of duty with a slide camera, which gave his son the inspiration for the film. Ponsoll collaborated with Eric Dow of Paramus, who served as director and editor.
Few documentaries have been able to intertwine both human and military aspects so artistically. Viewers are able to get a real insight into the struggles both emotionally and physically that these men endured. I dare you not to be moved by these hero’s interviews.
