County College Of Morris Inaugurates Third President
Anthony J. Iacono took the helm of County College Of Morris on Friday.
MORRISTOWN, NJ — Anthony J. Iacono was inaugurated as the president of the County College Of Morris on Friday, making him the third person to lead the community college.
Iancono began serving as president last September. He's put in motion plans for an Honors College and virtual campus, and has worked on developing the college's next strategic plan.
“I believe that the vision of our founders has long been realized – exceeded even,” Iacono said about the college's achievements. “And, moreover, I believe that we owe it to the thousands of people who have worked for nearly 50 years to continue investing our time, talents and resources to build a CCM for tomorrow."

He spoke about his vision for the college's future and how to keep community colleges vibrant, saying, "And while we are very proud of our past and where it has taken us, I see a great college that will find its footing among the most innovative schools in the nation. A college that plays a leading role in redefining what great community colleges are all about – it’s time to refresh the vision that transformed thousands of communities across the nation.”
Before comming to CCM, Iacono worked as the vice president of academic affairs at IRSC. He also chairs the Board of Directors for the Picatinny Innovation Center and serves on the Morris County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

“The future holds great challenges for education in this rapidly changing world and we must meet those challenges to continue to educate, grow, and nurture, current and future students,” said Freeholder Doug Cabana. “We are confident that working with President Iacono – as we did for the past half century with the college’s only two previous presidents, Dr. Sherman Masten and Dr. Edward Yaw – will make this a reality.”
