Driver Ran Red Light, Killed Morristown Couple: Report

Fern Priestley and another driver were killed instantly, Eldon Priestely died later, according to NJ.com.

MORRISTOWN, NJ - An elderly Morristown couple and a 51-year-old Pennsburg, Pa. man died as the result of a crash caused by a 77-year-old woman running a red light, according to a report by NJ.com.

Joyce Klahr, of the 700 block of East Rock Road in Salisbury Township, was arraigned Friday morning and released on $50,000 unsecured bail, the report said.

According to the report, the accident took place on Aug. 12 on Route 309 North, and Klahr ran a steady red traffic light, hitting the side of the Lexus containing Eldon Priestley, 74, and his wife, Fern Priestley, 77, which had the right of way.

The resulting three car accident claimed the life of Timothy Hank, 51, of Pennsburg, Montgomery County, who was found in a 2008 Ford Escape and Fern Priestly.

Eldon Priestley had severe injuries and died on Dec. 6 at the age of 75 from complications of traumatic brain injuries suffered in the crash while he was a patient at a nursing facility in Montgomery County, the report said.
