French Thrillers!: Some of the Best Suspense Movies to Come from France

Looking for films that are not currently in the theater and probably will not be on Netflix either?  If so, come to the latest film series featuring some of the best French suspense thrillers at The Morristown & Morris Township Library.  The free series films will be held the first four Thursdays in May with each film beginning at 6:45 p.m.  Refreshments will be served.  This program is supported through funding from the Friends of the Morristown & Morris Township Library.

The wife of a cruel headmaster and his mistress conspire to kill him, but after the dirty deed is done, the body disappears, and strange events begin to occur. An all-time classic directed by Henri-Georges Clouzot (“the French Hitchcock”).

A stylish opera star, two tapes, two Parisian mob killers, one corrupt policeman, a lovesick opera fan, a teenage thief, and the coolest philosopher ever filmed. All these characters intricately twist their way through the streets of Paris. Directed by Jean-Jacques Beineix.


 


Thursday, May 23rd, at 6:45 pm, Tell No One (2006)


Based on Harlan Coben’s international best seller about a pediatrician who still grieves the murder of his beloved wife eight years earlier. When two bodies are found near the scene of the crime, the police suspect the doctor again. The mystery deepens when he receives an anonymous e-mail with a link to a video that suggests his wife is somehow still alive, with a message to ‘Tell No One.’
