Kitchen Closed: Sebastian’s to Serve Final Meal Saturday
Elm Street restaurant to close after 18 years in business.
The smell of perfectly cooked steak wafting from Elm Street will become just a memory by the time Mother’s Day arrives this weekend, as Sebastian’s The Steakhouse closes its doors for good.
After 18 years, the 28-day dry aged prime beef and marinated swordfish will make their final appearances on Saturday after owner Dean Piccolo decided to sell the business.
Piccolo’s father owned the building and bequeathed it to his son upon retiring at age 75.

The decision to hand in the menus, however, was a mutual one. Piccolo said after discussing the business with his father, they agreed to sell the space to David Barnat, co-owner of Cambridge Wines, whose business just opened in 2013.
Piccolo doesn’t believe the influx of other restaurants, including steakhouses like Roots, have hindered his business at all. In fact, he thinks it’s the opposite.

“Morristown has become more of a foodie town,” he said Thursday. “More restaurants are actually good for business. We appreciate all our customers over the past 18 years.”
Piccolo said he isn’t sure if a second iteration of Sebastian’s, or a restaurant of any kind, will be in the family’s future, but the option is certainly still there.
Located at 80 Elm Street, the business will serve its final meal on Saturday, May 10.
