Morris School District Budget Exceeds Cap
Coronavirus concerns and mitigating fallout has pushed the budget to 2.6 percent.
MORRISTOWN, NJ - Morristown residents will see a tax decrease and Morris Township residents will see a tax increase according to the $128.2 million dollar budget approved by Morris School District last Monday.

Annual school taxes will drop by $33 for the average homeowner in Morristown where the average home value is valued at $354,790. They will increase by $157 for the average homeowner in Morris Township where the average home is assessed at $560,500.

Superintendent Mackey Pendergrast noted in his presentation that these numbers are an estimate as the fallout from the coronavirus and the state aid from Governor Phil Murphy's office are still variables. You can view his video presentation here:

The budget represents a 2.6 percent increase over last year.
