Morristown Eagle Scout Honored by Freeholders for Scout Project
Andrew Chin raised funds to install Braille signs throughout the high school to help visually impaired students, like himself.

MORRISTOWN, NJ – An ambitious Eagle Scout from Morristown was honored by The Morris County Board of Freeholders this week for his scout project that made it easier for people with impaired vision, like himself, to travel through Morristown High School.
On Sept. 28, freeholders presented a certificate of achievement to Andrew Chin, a senior at the high school in Scout Troop 228, who raised funds to install federally compliant Braille signs throughout the school.

Chin also put together a Blindness Awareness Day at the high school with over a dozen exhibitors to raise awareness of vision issues and daily living solutions for impaired persons.

Chin organized for groups like Seeing Eye and the N.J. Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired to attend the event.
"This is a remarkable young man who has really made a difference in his high school community, helping to raise awareness among young people of the needs of people with sight issues, but to also show them the incredible assets this group of people bring to our community," Freeholder Director Kathy DeFillippo said.
