Morristown High School Students Earn Music Recognition At MPAC
Students from Morristown High School were honored for their musical talents by the Mayo Performing Arts Center.
MORRISTOWN, NJ ā Ten students from Morristown High School were honored as Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC) Music Students of the Month for Outstanding Youth Choir. The recognition occurred prior to a Saturday performance by the South African group Ndlovu Youth Choir.
As part of the honor, the students also had the opportunity to perform a song with the Ndlovu Youth Choir in front of the MPAC audience. MPAC plans to honor a group of students each month throughout the season.
Christine Scott nominated the following Morristown High School students for the honor: Cole Bartlett, Allison Crean, Helene Gringeri, Kara Matlins, Jackson Miller, Tessa Niznik, Zion Pearson, Brooks Seibold, Ryan Snyder, and Persephone Wetcher.

Cole Bartlett was recognized for his growth, versatility, and leadership as a section leader. Allison Crean was noted for her meticulous approach and consistent excellence in various honor choirs. Helene Gringeri was highlighted for her self-discipline, strong work ethic, and leadership as Co-President of the Mixed Chorale.
Kara Matlins, a Co-President of the Treble Chorale, was praised for her soprano voice, leadership, and ensemble assessment skills. Jackson Miller, a three-year member of the Morris Area Honor Choir, was acknowledged for his robust baritone and award-winning theatrical performances. Tessa Niznik was described as a hard-working and dependable musician, disciplined in practice and a patient section leader.

Zion Pearsonās natural talent, expressiveness, and leadership as a section leader were noted. Brooks Seibold was recognized for her dedication, show-stopping solos, and co-direction of the Jazz Choir. Ryan Snyder, an exceptionally talented bass, was commended for his leadership in teaching harmonies and creating original compositions. Persephone Wetcher, a four-year member of the Morris Area Honor Choir, was honored for her natural talent, professional demeanor, and leadership as Co-President of the Mixed Chorale.
MPAC invites area teachers to nominate students for this monthly honor. A year-end recital for all honored students is scheduled for June.
