The Bryan Cameron Education Foundation awarded Maya Dummett a Cameron Impact Scholarship.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — Morristown High School senior Maya Dummett received a Cameron Impact Scholarship from the Bryan Cameron Education Foundation. The award grants Dummett a full-tuition, merit-based scholarship for four years of undergraduate study.
Dummett will begin her first year at Harvard College this fall, studying computer science and government.
The Morristown High student is passionate about the intersection of computer science and government for social justice causes such as equity as it pertains to race, gender and more. Through college, Dummett hopes to gain the education needed to better understand this niche, ultimately allowing her to better serve the people and the causes she cares for.

The Bryan Cameron Education Foundation announced their 15 scholarship recipients last week. The foundation received more than 2,700 applications for this year’s Cameron Impact Scholarship from all 50 states and abroad. Following an online application process, approximately 100 finalists from 28 states were selected for interviews.
A Cameron Impact Scholar must demonstrate a positive engagement in community service, exhibit strong leadership qualities, be active in extracurricular activities and show strength in academics. Most notably, those identified as Cameron Impact Scholars must show a true passion to use their individual gifts and talents to make a tangible and positive impact on the world around them.
“We could not be more excited to welcome this incredible group of impact makers into the Cameron Impact Scholar family," said Amie Lucas, the foundation's executive director. "Each one of the 2022 scholars gives us an incredible amount of hope in the future, and we are thrilled to see what may come from their growing connections with our larger Scholar cohort. We are humbled to be able to learn from all of them.”
