Nearly 27K Without Power In Morris Co. Amid Heat Wave
More than 26,000 homes are without electricity Tuesday afternoon.
MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — Power outages hit wide swaths of Morris County on Tuesday afternoon as weather forecasters continue to warn about a sweltering heat wave in New Jersey.
According to the Jersey Central Power & Light online outage map, there are currently 449 customers affected by the outages in Morris County as of 7:23 p.m.
The estimated restoration time is estimated to be between 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., according to JCP&L officials.

According to JCP&L, the cause of the outage affecting homes throughout Morris and Sussex Counties is a downed high-voltage line along Route 80.
"Crews are on site working as quickly and safely as possible to restore power," officials said.
