• Veterans Valor Celebrates Completion of The Gateway at Healing Garden in Morristown (TAPinto.net) — In Morristown, veterans, first responders and local leaders recently celebrated completion of The Gateway, a major feature of The Healing Garden at the Frelinghuysen Arboretum. The project aims to offer a peaceful, educational space honoring service and sacrifice, and organizers are now seeking donations, volunteers and partnerships to build additional themed gardens for reflection and healing.
   

• NJ Transit, Amtrak rail riders face 5 weeks of service disruptions (dailyrecord.com) — Morristown Line riders face five weeks without weekday Midtown Direct trains to Penn Station as NJ Transit diverts service to Hoboken for Portal North Bridge work. Expect reduced schedules, heavier reliance on PATH and ferries, and advice to work from home if possible while crews finish connecting the new bridge tracks through mid-November.
   

• Morris County Tournament 2026 field hockey bracket, schedule, scores (dailyrecord.com) — Morristown and Morristown Beard both earned favorable positions in the 2026 Morris County field hockey tournament, with Morristown getting a first-round bye and Morristown Beard hosting Pequannock. Local fans can track first-round games through Oct. 14, second round by Oct. 17, and follow Morristown's path toward the Boonton semifinals and final later in October.
